I was sitting in my living room, trying to journal out some tension I was feeling in my shoulders when I realized that I had been ignoring a lot of small pains and discomforts that had been popping up for me. I decided to do a full body scan, starting at the top of my head and working my way down. I realized that I was holding a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, and I didn’t know why. I knew I needed to find out, so I started asking myself some tough questions. Why was I holding this tension? What was causing it? I soon realized that I was ignoring some emotions that I needed to deal with. I decided to face them head on, and once I did, the tension lifted and I felt so much better..
